Weekly indoor-swimming for naturists – season 2009/2010
The tradition of Prague's naturistic (FKK) indoor-swimming lasts a relatively long time. It's a great oportunity to continue swimming and having fun once the summer nude places get closed or too cold because of coming winter. Actually, it's pretty much like any other swimming-pool open for public, with the only exception that our pool is clothes-free. (You can bring a towel if you want) Don't be afraid of happiness!
The last swim of the 2009/2010 period was June, 25th. Have a nice summer. See you again in October…
  The building  Entrance This year, the swims take place at the pool of ČZU, which is located in the city district Suchdol (north end of Prague, west from the river). The place is easily accessible by public transport (from metro station Dejvická, just about 10 minutes by bus). After several years in the rather expensive central part of the city, this move finally allowed us to lower the prices to somehow normal levels for a swimming in Prague, plus we can use the neighboring sauna too. The swims are held on every Friday, 8pm to 9pm (lockers accessible from 7:45pm); last swim before summer break is June 25th, 2010.
How our swims usually look like?
Excluding our time, the pool is completely textile, so we have to respect the cloakroom-assignment (men/ladies), and avoid entering the pool room before or after our swimming-hour.
The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, tolerant… Some people are just swimming (if you are relaxing or talking, be nice and stay out of their way, if possible…), while others also enjoy to meet friends and have fun during the regular pool-meetings. They're talking, laughing, playing with an inflatable ball… Whatever they like. There are different people of all ages, men, women, boys, girls, couples, friends, singles, both regular visitors and new faces… Any person who seeks comfort, sport, friendship and such, will be allways welcome (with decent behavior). Time after time, a bit of an event is prepared for fun, a competition, music… And it's almost sure, that our after-swimming friendly talks in a nearly pub (with good kitchen and no smoking) will continue also in the new season.

When, where? This year, the swims take place at the pool of ČZU, Prague – Suchdol (Kamýcká 1073), on Fridays 8pm to 9pm (time to swim in the pool – lockers accessible from 7:45pm). July-September: Closed. Location on a map
How to get there? From metro station Dejvická (end of the line „A“), take a bus 107 or 147, to the stop „Kamýcká“ (first on top of a hill, about 10 minutes ride). From there, walk across the main street, and find the pool in the „Sídlištní“ side-street (second building on the right, with a small parking lot).  By car By car, drive from Dejvice in the direction of Suchdol (wide 4-way road along the river and railway, then up to a hill). At the first notable crossroads on top of the hill (near bus stops) turn to the left, and find a small parking lot (free of charge) on the right, by the pool. Location on a map
About the pool: Swimming pool 25m, 6 swimming lanes, half is deep enough for a bit of a dive too. We can also visit a neighboring sauna.
Which kind of people is coming? Couples, singles, old, young, boys, girls, women, men, families with children, anyone in the age between 0 and 100 :-) Both regulars and new faces.
Afraid of weird people? No problem! Never seen any inside our pool… And since the windows are high above the ground, there's also no problem with any unwanted observers from the outside. ;-)
Atmosphere? Somebody swimming, somebody playing with a ball, sometimes a little competition, people are talking about all the things they're interested in… Just like any other pool, but more friendly :-)
I'm single – may I still join you? That's sure! Most of regular visitors know each other, but still they like to meet new friends. Swimming alone is also quite normal, nobody will notice. The naturists are fine people.
Taking photos? Some naturists quite don't like the sight of a camera „watching“, so we don't bring any cameras to the pool. Pictures are taken only rarely, and an agreement of all people in question is allways required. If you're going to bring a camera yourself, you have to tell us at the entry, and ask all the people for permission before doing any photos.
 The pool is fully accessible.

The prices are in CZK, calculated on a non-profit basis from current expenses and the average count of people in the pool. Any change of these factors may cause a change of the prices.
(Services offered by the neighboring sauna are not included in our prices.)

Sauna
You can visit a public sauna, with an entrance directly from the pool (a door left of the lifeguard's cabin, ring a bell), but the price for sauna is not included in the listed tickets prices. Apart from the sauna (dry type), some massage and a mini bar is also offered. You can visit this sauna during our swims, as well as before/after (the sauna is open until 9:30pm, or sometimes a bit longer).
Some of us got used to visit the sauna after our swims, to avoid shortening of our pool-time (which also allows us to rest after the sauna properly). To do so, we must free the lockers boxes before end of our swim – so we carry our clothes and stuff around the pool and into the sauna room, returning the lockers key to the pool's reception desk (it's best to ask someone else for help, to avoid the need to get clothed just to return the key). We can stay in the sauna until 9:30pm then, or even longer as the sauna staff sees fitting. The sauna is paid separately at the sauna desk (110CZK/90min.), and a separate exit is used this late (not through the pool anymore).
The sauna may be also visited during the swim (a short „warm-up“), or just for the mini-bar. |
